Accommodation
I've been running Airbnb as a superhost for 10 years from my flat in Glasgow's trendy Southside, and will offer this at a reduced rate of £50 per room for the nights before and after a trip. It'll also be available for the duration of a trip should it be required, outrageous weather or something else. There's two rooms available each with a bed and a double sofa bed. Please contact me directly to arrange. Contact
If you're allergic to dogs, I'm afraid you'll need to book elsewhere, Murphymoo lives here.
For alternative accommodation options, Glasgow is Scotland's biggest urban centre so there's a huge variety of places to stay. A pre ride briefing will be held the night before a trip in my kitchen so I'd recommend you to focus your search in Glasgow's Southside (G41, G42) or Central (G1) postcode areas.
Getting to Glasgow
Arriving by Train
Book your train to Glasgow Central or Queen Street Station in advance to ensure that you successfully snag a bike slot. Glasgow is a fairly compact city with rapidly developing cycling infrastructure; from the stations it's a short 10 min spin to reach my place, mostly on cycle lanes.
Arriving by Road
If you decide to drive to Glasgow, the Southside (where i live) is just off the M74. You should be able to find on street parking close to your accommodation in most areas of the city with relative ease. Please do note that Glasgow city centre is a Low Emission Zone. Be aware that the Zone extends to cover some approaches to the city. You can check your vehicle's compliance here.
Arriving by Plane
Its a 15-20 min car journey from the airport to my house. I can connect you with a private taxi firm that uses a suitable trailer.
